Committees

National Visiting Committee (NVC)

Required of all NSF ATE Centers, the NVC serves the two major roles of assessing and advising. As advisor, the NVC helps the Center make improvements and enhance its likelihood of success. The assessing role helps gather evidence that the project is on track and carrying out the activities as promised. The National Visiting Committee's role and report are governed by the guidelines outlined in the national NVC Handbook.   Members serving on the NVC Committee for 2012 include:

The 2011 National Visiting Committee meeting for AMTEC is scheduled for March 31-April 1.  The meeting will be held at Kentucky Community and Technical College in Versailles, KY.

Evaluation Committee

The evaluation of AMTEC is intended to provide formative data that will allow for those participating in the Center to continuously improve their work, resulting in better educational opportunities for students wanting to enter or advance in the automotive industry.  It is also intended to provide information to wider audiences who may be interested in building upon the work of the Center to improve their own practice.

Evaluation will be conducted be the Community College Research Center (CCRC) housed at Teachers College, Columbia University.  CCRC brings extensive expertise in workforce programs associated with community colleges as well as knowledge of evaluation design, implementation, and utilization.
