In 2007, Bluegrass Alliance for Women (BAW) began celebrating Women’s History Month while recognizing and honoring women in the Bluegrass Area Development District (BGADD) at their annual luncheon. BAW Impact Awards are presented annually to one nominee from each of the 17 BGADD counties who have made a strong commitment to empowering and improving the lives of women and girls. From the Impact winners, one outstanding woman is selected to receive the annual Legacy Award.

“The goal of the event is to encourage excellence among those involved in higher education as a way to further leadership, increase knowledge across the broad spectrum of education and promote good citizens capable of thriving in today’s society and prepared to meet future challenges.” Read more at iccms
